Bertone SpA

Carrozzeria Bertone was an historic Italian automotive player, operating in Grugliasco (TO) in a factory with over 1,300 employees. The company, founded in 1912 and grown under the leadership of Nuccio Bertone (son of the founder), has worked with numerous car manufacturers by signing the design of top models such as Lamborghini Countach, Lancia Stratos, Fiat X1 / 9, Lamborghini Miura and the series X of Citroën.

After the death of Nuccio Bertone, the company faced some economic and organizational problems, going through one of the worst moments after the non-renewal of the production agreements with the FIAT group.

Following a long crisis, in 2008 some potential investors presented expressions of interest for the takeover of the company. Lilly Bertone (Nuccio's widow) therefore opted to accept the offer of Domenico Reviglio, which provided for the introduction of new Equity for a total of EUR 50mln and the opening of new credit lines for EUR 100mln instrumental to the company's turnaround.

HCF members acted as advisor to the Bertone family by providing a fairness opinion of the offer presented by Reviglio and the feasibility of the turnaround business plan of the group he presented.
